CAP Planes

Not your ordinary . . .   KY-214 generally has a Cesena 182T with a G1000 panel assigned at Bowman Field (KLOU).  As one of Squadrons with the highest number of hours flown, any of the eight Kentucky Wing aircraft may be rotated through KLOU for better utilization purposes.

Bowman Airfield

Historic Bowman Field, the location of KY-214, was established in 1919 with the first plane based there in 1921, just 18 years after the Wright Brothers first flight.  It is the oldest continually operating airport in North America.  Charles Lindberg landed the Spirit of St Louis here in 1927.
